Alleged SABC intruder to reappear in court─── BLAINE JONES 12:50 Wed, 19 Jan 2022
The case against the suspected SABC intruder has been postponed to 25 January in his absence, as he is currently in hospital. The postponement is to allow further investigations.
The Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court has postponed the case against the 27-year-old suspect on Tuesday. NPA Free State spokesperson, Phaladi Shuping, says Mokheseng Mofokeng is accused of breaking into the SABC premises in the early hours of Sunday 16 January 2022.
It is alleged that a security officer was in the control room when he saw, on a security camera, that there was an intruder inside the building.
Security officers went to investigate the apparent security breach and were allegedly attacked by Mofokeng. Mofokeng was shot and injured during the scuffle with security officers.
He is facing charges of business burglary, trespassing, and malicious damage to property.
