Water supply to be restored in Bfn─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 08:17 Fri, 21 Jan 2022
The Mangaung Metro Municipality is temporarily using granular chlorine to clean water for human consumption.
According to the metro’s spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, the use of granular chlorine is an alternative to chlorine gas, as the metro’s manufacturer experienced a shortage. It is expected that the supply to most parts of the City will be back to normal this afternoon. Khedama would like to assure the public that the water has been tested and found to be safe for human consumption.
The metro requests the community to use water sparingly. This includes not watering gardens, washing cars, taking shorter showers, enjoying full baths, and not using automated sprayers.
