This is according to Premier Sisi Ntombela.

Ntombela on Friday announced that they were heartbroken with the passing of these teachers who could not join them to celebrate the triumph and dominance of the province in the National Senior Certificate (NSC) matric results for the third time in a row.

The province has for a third consecutive year dominated the standings by claiming the top spot in 2019, 2020 and 2021. The province has achieved an 85.7% pass rate in 2021.

One hundred and thirty matric top achievers, including Chané Nel from Hoër Meisieskool Oranje, and Tlotliso Mofokeng from Qwaqwa, were amongst those being celebrated and awarded for their stellar performance and hard work.

Nel achieved eight distinctions, which included a 100% pass rate in German as her second additional language.

Mofokeng obtained seven distinctions which include 100% for Mathematics and Physics, and 99% for Life Science.

Students received laptops, amongst others, as part of their packages.
