Mangaung sewerage a big problem: DA─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 09:31 Sun, 30 Jan 2022
Sewerage blockages in the main lines of the Mangaung Metro Municipality (MMM) have left the Democratic Alliance (DA) concerned about the cleanliness of the metro.
The DA's Shadow Minister for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta), Cilliers Brink, noted the blockages on his oversight visit to the Free State.
He was joined by provincial party leader, Roy Jankielsohn.
The DA alleges that despite numerous reports of sewerage blockages, manholes in certain areas of Mangaung have not received attention.
OFM News previously reported that some workers at Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein have complained about sewage spillages in the parking lot of the hospital’s mortuary.
President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema, recently visited Bloemfontein with the sole purpose of inspecting sites that have suffered severe sewage spillages.
He told residents it seems as if the ruling party in the metro is failing to find a solution to the problem.
