Ntombela's emotional farewell to slain elderly woman─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 08:30 Sat, 19 Feb 2022
Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela paid an emotional farewell to a 65-year-old elderly woman who was murdered in JB Mafora in Bloemfontein.
Ntombela, who attended Nomvula Nthabi's funeral earlier this week, was accompanied by the MEC for Social Development, Mamiki Qabathe, and Mangaung's deputy mayor, amongst others.
Speaking at the funeral, Ntombela said that she was inspired by the sense of unity that was displayed by the community and their determination to see justice prevail.
"I call upon all members of the community to be compassionate and bold for the sake of justice. Let us all work hand in glove with our police service to bring to book the perpetrators of this heinous crime," said Ntombela.
She also said that the family and community members have lost a mother, grandmother, a pillar and a community builder. According to Ntombela, one thing that was clear is that society has been unduly deprived of an opportunity to draw from this fountain of wisdom.
