Shops looted in Letsopa─── 15:16 Wed, 23 Feb 2022
Three foreign-owned shops in Letsopa near Ottosdal in North West were looted last night.
The looting comes amidst growing frustration due to water shortages and unemployment in the area.
Letsopa has been experiencing water shortages for the past week, with residents having to travel to town to fetch water.
Some shops closed earlier yesterday for fear of being targeted.
Some residents have spoken out against the looting, saying it is wrong and uncalled for as these shop owners are being used as scapegoats.
Attempts by OFM News to speak to some of the affected shop owners were not fruitful, as they fear that they may be victimised.
No arrests have been made in the matter at this stage.
