Anticipation over #FSSOPA─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 08:53 Thu, 24 Feb 2022
As the day the Premier of the Free State Sisi Ntombela is to make her address at the State of the Provincial Address (SOPA) approaches, anticipation by different political parties grows over which issues will be addressed - and in which manner.
The provincial spokesperson for ANC, Oupa Khoabane, explained the party is waiting with anticipation for Monday, and are hopeful the issues that people in the province experience will be addressed in a practical way.
These are issues that were also highlighted in the party’s January 8 statemen. Amongst them is service delivery and the rate of unemployment.
“It is also necessary that the interventions and efforts to address unemployment from the previous financial year gets quantified so that a decision can be taken if impact is visible,” Khoabane added.

In addition, Jankielsohn stated Ntombela must also address how she will use the power and the resources that have been bestowed upon her office to ensure the provincial municipalities are able to deliver top notch basic service to their communities.
The issue of the plans to repair roads in the province also remains on top. “How she will create and enable conducive environment for businesses and employment must also be addressed on the day,” concluded Jankielsohn.
