Ntombela was accompanied by Free State Transport MEC, William Bulwane, as she honoured 168 female police officers at Bobbies Park, Bloemfontein, on Friday.

She said that women in the police carried themselves with dignity, and served the people with unquestionable efforts over a long period of time.

According to Ntombela, the province has seen a drastic decrease in the latest crime statistics under the leadership of Motswenyane.

"It gives me great pleasure and a sense of fulfilment to see women rise, by merit, in different sectors of society. This occasion is evidence that women are capable, and they continue to defy long held erroneous prejudice in society," she said.

Ntombela further congratulated female police officers for the outstanding and selfless service that they continue to provide to people of the country, particularly Free State.
