Metro creates temporary water solution | News Article

The Mangaung Metro Municipality, together with the bulk water supplier, Bloem Water, have deployed water tankers to the areas affected by the water interruptions following the failure of a pipeline at the Welbedacht Dam.

The metro has also deployed water tankers to Universitas Hospital, Pelonomi Hospital and Rosepark Hospital in Bloemfontein.

Free State Health Department spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, informed OFM News on Tuesday that surgeries at the Universitas and Pelonomi Hospitals have had to be postponed due to water interruptions and they will for now be prioritising high-risk and life-threatening surgeries.

The troubled pipeline has caused some parts of the city to be without water since last week Thursday.
