FS ANC refutes protest claims made by EFF─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 05:53 Thu, 24 Mar 2022
The Free State ANC's Interim Provincial Committee (IPC) has dismissed claims made by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) that the party has played a role in protests that erupted at the Mangaung Metro Municipality headquarters in Bloemfontein.
EFF Regional Chairperson, Gopolang Lipale, previously stated that the ruling party's factional battles are tearing the Metro apart, at the expense of the residents who are forced to stomach poor service delivery such as sewage spillages that they say the municipality has stopped caring about.

Meanwhile the IPC spokesperson, Oupa Khoabane, refuted the claims and told OFM News that the ANC is also concerned about issues raised by residents. He said that the metro has to ensure that it attends to all complaints that community members raise.
"The claims by the EFF that protests at the Bram Fischer Building are as a result of the factional battles in the ANC or upcoming conferences of the ANC, are far from the truth. Those protests are not in any way led by the structures of the ANC, such that you can bring the name of the ANC into the whole saga."
