#Mangaung groups in solidarity against metro─── 06:53 Fri, 25 Mar 2022
Mangaung pressure groups, together with workers unions, stood in solidarity as they marched to the headquarters of the Free State's metro.
Mangaung Concerned Community (MCC) members barricaded the Mangaung Metro Municipal premises for the better part of this week, denying workers entrance to the headquarters of the municipality.
This led to the arrest of one MCC leader, Themba Zweni, and several other protesters. MCC members on Thursday told OFM News that they would not leave the premises unless the provincial and national offices intervene.
Meanwhile, the chairperson of Mangaung Service Delivery Forum (MSDF), Potso Motoko, questioned the arrest of MCC members while they were delivering a memorandum.

Both MSDF and MCC have had several protests on issues including unjust service delivery issues, job opportunities and the availability of land. Mangaung Mayor, Mxolisi Siyonzana, has promised to work together with leaders of Mangaung pressure groups, provincial government and the metro's management to address the maladministration that has seen the economy of the Province deteriorate.
