Arrest warrant issued for former Eskom executive─── 10:46 Thu, 31 Mar 2022

The Palm Ridge Specialised Crimes Court has issued an arrest warrant against former Eskom executive France Hlakudi.
Hlakudi failed to appear in court on Wednesday.
He is out on R300 000 bail.
Investigative Directorate spokesperson Sindisiwe Seboka says Hlakudi's bail money will now be forfeited to the state.
"He is expected to appear within 14 days (13 April 2022) for final forfeiture of his bail money."
Hlakudi and his other other co-accused have been linked to corruption pertaining to the Kusile Power station project which cost the state a whopping R745 million.
They include Eskom Group Executive for Group Capital Division, Abram Masango, businessman Maphoko Kgomoeswana, and CEO of Tubular Construction and Antonio Trindade who was a service provider to Eskom, as well as seven other companies.
They face charges of fraud, corruption, and money laundering.
It is alleged that the accused defrauded Eskom for the project between 2014 and 2017.
The matter will return to court on 25 May.
