According to the North West's Health spokesperson, Tebogo Lekgethwane, workers are protesting over the payment of their performance bonuses.  He tells OFM News that there are allegations that staff members have been paid performance bonuses while others have yet to be paid. He adds that the department vowed to investigate these allegations.  

OFM News reported on Wednesday about the protests of disgruntled employees at the Potchefstroom Hospital.

Further investigations into whether or not workers broke any public service regulations in their conduct on Wednesday will also take place, adds Lekgethwane.

"A team is being assigned the responsibility of interacting with the hospital staff now to engage all affected stakeholders and seek a way forward," says Lekgethwane.
