Five lives lost on N12─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 17:37 Tue, 19 Apr 2022

Five people were killed and eight others injured Tuesday afternoon following a three-vehicle collision on the N12 between Potchefstroom and Fochville.
According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, paramedics arrived on the scene to find numerous other services already in attendance.
Three light motor vehicles were found across the road while several patients were scattered around the scene.
Meiring adds upon closer inspection, medics found two men trapped, one in each vehicle. Two other men were seen lying outside the cars. Unfortunately, all four men had already succumbed to their numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead.
Eight other patients were tended to by medics. One was in a critical condition, while seven others had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated, and the critically injured patient was provided with advanced life support.
Once treated, the patients were transported to hospitals in Potchefstroom for further care.
Unfortunately, after some time, the critically injured patient succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
The incident's exact details are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
