A child-headed household, which includes one sister and two brothers, have been gifted a house by Free State Premier, Sisi Ntombela.

This happened during the launch the African National Congress’ (ANC) Letsema campaign in Mangaung.

According to Ntombela, Lerato Ntsaku resided in Freedom Square with her two siblings before they were handed over a new house in Hillside View, where she will be staying, also with her two children.

In a statement, Ntombela further says her two brothers - who are battling substance addiction - will now be taken to a rehabilitation centre to receive much needed assistance.

Meanwhile, during the launch of the Letsema campaign, ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa commended the Premier along with her team for identifying and assisting the family in-need. He reiterated that residents should work hand in hand with ANC officials to build a better prosperous future for Mangaung.

"A family of three, one sister and two brothers, lost their parents; they have been living on their own and there has been real poverty in that household. Part of their house burnt down, and we needed to take out a sister who has two children," said Ramaphosa.

He thanked community members for showing up in their numbers to the launch, despite unfavourable weather conditions. He said that residents will now see the visibility of ANC members working hard to clean up streets of Mangaung as part of the launch.

Ramaphosa also said that they will ensure that everyone involved in corruption within the Metro will be kicked out and will face a hefty hand of the law. He pledged to return to the Metro to clean the streets himself and repair potholes, as he could not do so yesterday due to poor weather conditions.
