#NWfloods: Humanitarian aid for over 300 families─── 07:24 Thu, 28 Apr 2022
The community of Deelpan in the North West is picking up the pieces as floodwater continues to pool, making homes uninhabitable.
Stakeholders joined together to provide desperately needed humanitarian aid to the more than 300 families whose homes have been flooded.
Flood victims hope to start rebuilding soon.
Earlier this week, eNCA reported scores of families have been displaced in Deelpan following floods in the area.
While the rain has stopped at the time, the flat landscape is making it difficult for the floodwaters to subside. Last week, one person had died in the Deelpan floods.
Seven villages are affected as they are in low-lying areas.
The mayor of the Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality, Molefe Khumalo says heavy rains have caused more flooding in the area now.
The North West is the third province to be hit by flooding in the country in under a month.
