His girlfriend alleged that they were sleeping with their baby when their home was invaded by three unknown men. One of these men allegedly had a firearm.

She reported that the men claimed they were taking the victim, Fana Mthembu, to the police station regarding a fight the day before. She said they further informed her that if the family wanted to see Mthembu, they could do so the next morning. These three men were reportedly driving a red VW Polo TSI with a GP registration number.

She explained that after they left her home, she contacted the police to report the matter and trace the suspects. She said she was told Mthembu was not at the police station.

Mthembu is described as a dark-skinned man who is approximately 1.6m tall. He is slim and has a scar on his left cheek next to his nose. He has a flag tattoo on his left arm. It is reported that at the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue jeans, a red soccer jersey, and blue Adidas flip-flops.

Police plead with anyone who might have information regarding Mthembu's whereabouts to contact Detective Sergeant Zwelakhe Gatebe on 082-301-9635.
