Take pride in your culture and heritage: Free State premier─── LUCKY NKUYANE 15:45 Wed, 25 May 2022
Free State premier Sisi Ntombela has urged South Africans and our neighbours on the continent to take pride in their culture and heritage.
She says the beliefs, language, natural resources are at the centre of "our very own existence".
She bemoaned that Sesotho is not recognised as the largest spoken language in the Free State.
She adds of the 2.9 million population, a staggering 1.7 million people are Sesotho speaking.
Ntombela made these statement whilst addressing members of the Provincial Legislature (MPLs) during a sitting at Fourth Raadsaal in Bloemfontein today, where the launch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association’s (CPA) local sub-branch in the province was also held.
The CPA has been challenged to make its mark and ensure that democracy prevails.

Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL), Jabulane Radebe, says the association needs to dispel the perception that the association is a charity organisation which does not look into the interest of citizens.
Radebe says the association should help unite Africans and develop the continent. The mission and vision of the CPA across the African region is among others "to promote and protect the interests and perspectives of CPA Africa Regional Parliaments, to promote gender equality, the emancipation of women, and garnering respect for human rights, freedom, democracy and good governance.”
