Eight men arrested on multiple charges in North West  | News Article

The police in the North West have arrested eight suspects who are accused of the murder of three men in Morokweng.

In a media statement, police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, explained that the eight suspects, who are all men aged between 26 and 42, are set to appear in the Ganyesa Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 30 May. 

They are charged with three counts of murder, three counts of kidnapping and one of arson.

OFM News previously reported that police retrieved three burnt bodies from a torched house. 

Mokgwabone stated from the information they received, it is suggested that some residents went to the house the trio had rented and allegedly pelted the house with stones. 

The trio was accused of dealing drugs.  

Mokgwabone further stated they have identified the trio to be Bonakele Sabasaba, 32, Khayalethu Sabasaba, 22, and Zanaflex Sabasaba, 26. 

During the arrest of the eight suspects, the police managed to confiscate a vehicle that was allegedly used during the commission of the crimes. 

Investigations into the matter continue.

The Provincial Commissioner, Sello Kwena, has commended the multidisciplinary team comprising of Tactical Response Team (TRT), Public Order Police (POP) and detectives for their dedication that resulted in the arrest. Police are still maintaining a presence in the area.
