Body found in Harrismith─── 11:45 Wed, 01 Jun 2022
The body of a man was found burnt and dumped in an informal settlement in Harrismith on Monday.
This man, whose age is estimated to be 30 years, was found with both his hands and legs tied up when his body was recovered in Matlharantlheng.
Free State police spokesperson[DB2] , Mmako Mophiring, tells OFM News the body was [DB3] burnt beyond recognition, and there aren’t any leads.
Furthermore, he appealed to anyone [DB4] to report if any of their missing family members fit the description[DB5] .
Based on what was learned at the scene, Mophiring says it seems the person was not burnt where their body was recovered.
“It could be that the incident happened somewhere else, and his body was later dumped there. That is what we are looking into at this moment. A case of murder has been opened, but so far no one unfortunately knows who this person is.”[DB6]
