#TruckDrivers: Road disruptions expected to continue | News Article

Truck drivers are expected to continue with their protest on Wednesday after roughly 100 trucks blocked the R34 road between Bloemhof and Wolmaransstad in North West on Tuesday.

North West police spokesperson, Amanda Funani, said that the truck drivers were protesting against the employment of foreign nationals, adding that no one had been arrested.

OFM News reported that an eyewitness said motorists who were driving on the R34 road were turned away from the route.

Meanwhile, protestors on Tuesday morning closed the N3 road between Warden and Villiers, ostensibly for the same reasons.

The Free State police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, gave an update that the road was re-opened for traffic.
