Reservoir to be shut down in Kimberley─── 16:01 Tue, 21 Jun 2022
In the midst of rising concerns nationwide regarding the state of municipal infrastructure, which has led to inadequate service delivery, a reservoir in the Northern Cape must be shut down to facilitate repairs.
According to Thoko Riet, spokesperson for the Sol Plaatje Municipality, a pipe in Kekewich Street has burst near Monument Heights in Kimberley.
It isn't clear what caused the accident. Therefore, the Newton reservoir will be shut down for a couple of hours so that repairs can be made. As a result, the affected areas will experience low water pressure. The affected areas should regain water pressure following repairs.
