Public Order Police (POP) members have been deployed to various parts of Sebokeng in the Vaal Triangle, following a protest over electricity and water.
The protest has intensified on day three as residents are unhappy after being without water and electricity for two months.
The Emfuleni Local Municipality's spokesperson, Makhosonke Sangweni, says technicians are currently working on the water levels which were isolating water supply to the affected areas.
The municipality has further engaged Eskom in an attempt to solve the electricity problem.
The disgruntled residents have vowed to continue with their protest if the problem remain unsolved by the end of today.
The roads connecting to Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark have now been cleared for traffic.
