NW #ANC conference to reconvene end of August─── 07:00 Mon, 15 Aug 2022

The ninth North West African National Congress' (ANC) provincial conference, sitting in the Rustenburg Civic Center, will reconvene before the end of the month.
This was confirmed by ANC National Executive Committee members, Obed Bapela, who says it has been rescheduled to 27 and 28 August.
At about 18:00 yesterday, delegates adopted to continue with voting for the top five and additional members, despite having a slew of challenges.
Bapela says reconvening again means there will be an additional cost, but at this stage, it is the right thing to do.
The ANC in the province has been functioning under the leadership of the Interim Provincial Committee (IPC) after the National Executive Committee disbanded the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) in 2018.
OFM News on Sunday reported that President Cyril Ramaphosa was expected to address the conference but Bapela said as the plan has changed, this will happen when the official closing happens in two weeks' time.
Speaking to the media, Nomvula Mokonyane said there have been incidents of tags cloning, citing individuals have invaded the registration centre, before grabbing the administrator and managing to run off with some identification tags of delegates.
It was later found that the tags were cloned, however, Mokonyane says because of the security features they were able to spot the cloned tags after they were discovered by members of the ANC Youth League.
