Provincial police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, says the 57-year-old Michael Mohlabane was at home with his family last month, when they heard a knock at the door.

Three unknown men entered the house, armed with guns, and tied the deceased up with shoe laces.

According to Thakeng, the deceased’s body was later found at a dumping site near an old garage.

“The bakkie, which belongs to the Matjhabeng Municipality, was found abandoned at Masimong shaft number 4. Mohlabane was declared dead by EMS personnel at the scene, and a case of house robbery, kidnapping and murder was registered for further investigation,” he adds.

Thakeng has called on anyone with information that could lead to the arrests suspects to contact Detective Constable Khaya Matinisa of the Virginia Detective Services on 082 301 3062, or visit the nearest police station.
