UPDATE | Water to be restored later today - Sol Plaatje municipality─── 13:30 Sun, 11 Sep 2022
The Sol Plaatje Local Municipality says work has been completed at the Midstation following a pipe burst on Saturday.
The municipality's spokesperson, Thoko Riet, says teams have opened the valves. "We are at a stage where we are filling up the network, which means water will be restored later this evening.
"Levels at the Newton reservoir are slightly low as a result of the operation that was undertaken. The municipality will embark on a nightly shutdown from tomorrow in order to raise the water levels at the reservoir which will be from 20:00pm - 04:00am."

Riet reported earlier that the damaged piece of pipe had to be cut off, and as a result, water flow was stopped.
She is asking residents to be patient and will provide updates on the situation.
