North West murder suspect abandons bail─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 07:27 Sat, 26 Nov 2022
The suspected killer of a North West nurse remains in police custody after abandoning his bail application.
24-year-old Bongane Shebi appeared in the Schweizer-Reneke Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Shebi is accused of killing Iris Mohokare, whose body was discovered by her landlord in the Ipeleng township on 13 October this year.
The National Prosecution Authority's (NPA) spokesperson in the province, Henry Mamothame, says the case against Shebi was postponed until 24 January as DNA results were not available.
"The state requested a postponement in order to allow for investigations to be completed before the matter can go to trial," says Mamothame.
OFM News previously reported that Shebi had confessed to murdering the 47-year-old nurse.
