100 unemployed youth to benefit from SETA-funded programme─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:34 Sun, 04 Dec 2022
At least 100 young people in the Free State will be the beneficiaries of a digital learning programme.
The six-month-long programme funded by SETA seeks to change the fortunes of prospective learners from towns around the Tokologo Local Municipality.
According to Premier Sisi Ntombela’s spokesperson, Palesa Chubisi, the programme, which is offered both virtually and in contact through the University of Johannesburg (UJ), is expected to enable beneficiaries to become independent and confident as they sharpen their usage of technology in the digital economy of the province and the country at large.
On Monday 5 December 2022, Ntombela will officiate the signing ceremony of the training contracts for 100 unemployed youth from towns around the aforementioned municipality:
- 50 from Hertzogville
- 25 from Boshoff
- 25 from Dealesville
Meanwhile, Ntombela has since highlighted that the “Free State is a youthful province with a high rate of unemployment. We believe that programs of this nature will assist our young people in equipping them with the necessary skills for self-development.”
