Two people have died in the Free State following a collision between a motorcycle and a taxi on Sunday.
Police spokesperson in the Free State Stephen Thakeng says police received information about an accident which took place next to a taxi rank in Virginia's Central Business District (CBD) on 22 January 2023, at about 11:30. He adds that on their arrival, police discovered the body of a male and a female with the black motorcycle. Both people were certified dead on the scene, while the 42-year-old taxi driver did not sustain any injuries.
Thakeng said their next of kin have not formally been informed yet, and the police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
