Post Office cashier appears in court for fraud─── 06:24 Sat, 18 Mar 2023
Semakaleng Sebeko (49) appeared before the Motswedi Magistrate’s Court on 16 March 2023 on twenty-six counts of fraud.
It is reported that between 2010 and 2018, when Sebeko was employed as a cashier at a Post Office in Rietpan Village, she allegedly defrauded unsuspecting clients of approximately almost R216 000.
According to police spokesperson, Tlangelani Rikhotso, it is alleged that each time clients went to the post office to deposit money, Sebeko would pretend to capture the transaction.
Meanwhile she allegedly kept the money for herself.
Sebeko was released on bail, and the matter was postponed to 4 April 2023, for a regional court appearance.
