EFF in North West calls for electricity, water, better roads─── 08:32 Mon, 20 Mar 2023
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in the North West has cited the demand for electricity, water, better roads and corruption as key issues affecting the province.
The provincial secretary of the EFF, Papiki Babuile, told OFM News many communities in the province have been affected by the lack of water, the poor state of roads and corruption for a long time.
Babuile says they have notified businesses and law enforcement agencies of the planned shutdown action on Monday, saying they have put "measures in place to ensure there isn't unruliness".
"We want electricity, the assurance that water will be restored and the end of corruption," says Babuile.
The province has been experiencing ongoing community protests, with poor service delivery and a lack of water supply being the major concerns.
North West Premier Bushy Maape's spokesperson, Sello Tatai, said security measures in all government buildings in the province will be stepped up to ensure properties and employees who are on duty will be protected.
