Stakeholders engage residents over R507 protest─── 06:04 Wed, 12 Apr 2023

Disgruntled community members in Letsopa near Ottosdal in North West on Tuersday agreed to open the R507 road for traffic at around 17:00.
The road was closed for more than 10 hours, with businesses and taxis not operational in the area.
Protestors are demanding intervention by the department of Public Works regarding problems with employment practices for a road maintenance project.
Although residents were given assurance that matters will be attended accordingly, they were reluctant to reopen the road for traffic.

Forum 4 Service Delivery’s Letlhogonolo Motji asked that residents allow engagements to continue.
The Democratic Alliance’s Carin Visser says the matter needs to be resolved so that the road can be fixed, as it's unsafe for motorist.
Ward 13 councillor Mpho Sehemo meanshile says a decision on ten employed people and public liaison committee members has been reached, and they will be removed.
