Murder case against Northern Cape teenager postponed─── ZENANDE MPAME 14:51 Tue, 09 May 2023
The Galeshewe teenager accused of fatally stabbing another teen’s plea for bail was postponed until 14 June to allow for more investigations.
Jermaine Long (18) from Santa, Galeshewe, is accused of stabbing Toma Raad (16) on 29 April.

Police spokesperson Timothy Sam said Long was involved in an argument with a woman who lived near his home.
“He ran home to get a knife, but instead of going back for the woman, he fatally killed a bystander who was in front of his home. The victim was certified dead at the hospital,” said Sam.
Long made a brief appearance in the Galeshewe Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 2 May for the murder.
The case was postponed until Monday 8 May for a formal bail hearing.
After allegedly being attacked by an enraged mob, Long appeared in the crowded courtroom on Monday with a bandage over his head.
His home in Santa was also torched last week by angry community members.
Members of the community held up placards with messages that opposed bail for the accused outside the court.
The community members, who have been attending the court proceedings, expressed relief that Long will not be freed for now.
