Child molester arrested after failing to appear in court─── HEIDRÈ MALGAS 09:02 Wed, 10 May 2023
A suspect from Bloemfontein, Rocco Lesley Bergh, was arrested in Vrendendal, in the Western Cape, after he failed to make a court appearance for the alleged rape, sexual assault and exposure of a minor.
According to police spokesperson, Thabo Covane, a warrant of arrest was issued after Rocco failed to make a court appearance on a case of child molestation. The suspect had other outstanding cases too.
“Rocco Lesley Bergh appeared in Bloemfontein Magistrate Court on Monday 8 May 2023. Rocco is expected back in court on Monday 15 May 2023,” Covane added.
OFM News previously reported an ANC councillor (40) at the Matlosana Local Municipality in the North West has been arrested for sexual misconduct.
The Klerksdorp-based ward 25 councillor was arrested over the weekend in connection with two counts of statutory rape.

Furthermore, the ANC Councillor had allegedly shared a nude picture of his private parts with the complainant. He added that a second and separate case was laid on Saturday evening 6 May 2023 by the parents of two boys, both aged 15. They accused the same suspect of two counts of statutory rape, after a recorded video of a man having sexual intercourse with a boy went viral on social media platforms, including WhatsApp.
