The 37-year-old woman from Botshabelo was brutally murdered for money by her husband.
Police investigations reveal that Dolly Maitumeleng Lebetsa was set on fire and burnt to death because her husband believed she stole money.
“It is alleged that the husband accused his wife of stealing the money he kept for transport,” says Free State police spokesperson, Thabo Covane.
Dikgang Lebetsa (37), the deceased's spouse, is accused of murder, placed in custody, and is set to reappear in the Botshabelo Magistrates’ Court on 31 July 2023.

Covane explains that the man poured petrol over his wife on Saturday 13 May 2023 before he set her alight.
