Watershedding: North West residents still bear the brunt─── LUCKY NKUYANE 12:11 Fri, 04 Aug 2023
The residents of the Potchefstroom-based JB Marks Local Municipality have once again been warned of an urgent water interruption.
The water interruption is set to start from Friday (4/8) at 14:00 until Sunday (6/8).
Municipal spokesperson Jeanette Tshite said the affected areas include, Mohadin, Promosa, Ikageng, Zakhele, Zonderwater, Serope, and all extensions. The aim is to fill the Eersterandjies Reservoir for water to be distributed. Six water tankers will be dispatched to distribute water to the affected communities.
"On Friday the municipality will acquire additional tankers. Residents who need to be provided with water tankers are urged to contact their local councillors.”

The watershedding has been instituted for at least the third time in two weeks by the municipality. OFM News previously reported the municipality recently faced occasional interference with the water supply.
On Sunday (30/7) the municipality had another water issue that affected areas, including Zonderwater, Zakhele, and the surrounds. The unforeseen interruption interfered with an adequate quality water supply and led to water shutdowns.
On Thursday (27/7) the municipality told residents of Promosa, Mohadin, Ikageng Proper, and all Extension Areas that, following the notification of a temporary water shutdown due to repairs on a 600mm bulk line, the process went as planned.
