Water is expected to return to dry taps in affected areas of Kimberley on Monday afternoon.

This is after the completion of repairs that started last week Wednesday at Riverton and the other sites. Sol Plaatje's municipal spokesperson, Thoko Riet, said most areas in Galeshwe and Roodepan now have a water supply.

Despite this progress, areas supplied by the Newton Reservoir (town areas) are still without water. She said once the line is complete, water will be restored later today.

The municipality will continue distributing water across the city and filling the Jojo tankers where there is a need. Residents who are still without water in Galeshewe are requested to contact the municipality's call centre at 053 8306 111.

Riet thanked residents for their patience and cooperation during this water interruption.
