Two men who robbed Springfontein Post Office in 2021 were sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment by the Bloemfontein Regional Court.
Motlatsi Nooe and Thapelo Thibiri were sentenced on Friday (18/8), after being found guilty on charges of armed robbery.
Free State police spokesperson Loraine Earle said the men entered the post office on the afternoon of 30 November 2021 and pointed firearms at people.
They then took cash and cellphones totalling R205 500.
She said they were later arrested, and all items were recovered, after an investigation by warrant officers Elaisa Mohotsi and Johan Engelbrecht from the organised crime unit.
“Through their excellent investigation skills, they ensured the sentence in court. The two accused were sentenced today (18/8).”
