Clean-up underway on the N8 after alcohol spillage─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 11:09 Tue, 17 Oct 2023
“Clean-up by authorities is underway at the N8 but the road is only partially open.”
Authorities are cleaning up the N8 between Bloemfontein and Botshabelo in the Free State after a considerable amount of alcohol fell off an SAB truck.
Emergency Medical Services spokesperson, Sipho Towa, said clean-up is in progress and the road is conditionally useable. The road on Tuesday (17/10) morning was full of bottles and cans of alcohol. While investigations are underway to determine how this happened, no injuries have been reported and the road is partially open.
OFM News has asked SAB for a comment.
While some of the travellers on the road were irritated with being late for their commitments, some rejoiced as they started taking some of the alcohol. Many Facebook users shared their experiences.
