North West police are investigating a case of culpable homicide─── ZENANDE MPAME 08:46 Sat, 04 Nov 2023

“Motorists are requested to be more cautious on the road when approaching residential areas where there could be possible stray animals.”
An accident claimed the lives of three patients on Friday (3/11) when a patient transport driver lost control on the R503 near Rooigrond towards Mahikeng.
Serious injuries were sustained by five people, including the driver from the North West Department of Health, who was taken to the hospital.
"We are trying hard as the Department to remove these stray animals off our roads through Road Safety Rangers.”
“It is not a smooth sailing process and we need our communities, particularly those living along national roads, to work with us in ensuring our roads are safe,” said the NW MEC for the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari.
OFM News previously reported on three patients who died in an accident when the driver swerved out of the road for two donkeys.
It is alleged that stray animals diverted the driver's attention, causing him to lose control and the car to roll.
MEC Lehari also wished speedy recovery to the injured.
