A North West teenager has gone missing without a trace.

Katlego Ngwenya (14) from Lethlabile, Zone 5 section near Brits, disappeared on Saturday (11/11) around 17:00. The Brits Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit have been asked to help find her.

North West police spokesperson Aafje Botma said the teen left her home but never returned. She was wearing a blue school jersey with a blue shirt, blue jeans and brown sandals. She is fairly short, of average build and has long plaited hair.

The police have pleaded with anyone who has information on her whereabouts to contact Detective Sergeant Boitumelo Rakabe of the Brits Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit on 079 881 994 or their nearest police station.

“Anonymous tip-offs can also be communicated via the MySAPS App on your smartphone or alternatively call Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” Botma said.

Lesego Mamello Motaung went missing in Westdene, Bloemfontein.

Meanwhile, Free State police have opened a case of kidnapping after Lesego Mamello Motaung (22) was reported missing. Police spokesperson Thabo Covane said a case of kidnapping was opened on Monday 30 October.

“According to her aunt, Lesego left her home in Uitsig and was on her way to work at a food chain restaurant in Zastron Street, Westdene,“ he said. A colleague alleged she let them know she wouldn’t come to work due to illness.
