Mangaung Metro has announced another emergency water cut in parts of the city. Municipal spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, said the emergency shutdown of the water supply is due to the continuing cleaning of the Hamilton reservoir.
Today is the fourth day of the intensive maintenance work at the reservoir. Areas affected by water cuts are the Central Business District in Bloemfontein, Heuwelsig, Bayswater, Dan Pienaar, Noordhoek, Pentagon Park, and adjacent areas.
Khadama said the water tankers will be dispatched to affected areas, especially essential entities and hospitals, as the maintenance is expected to take approximately 12 hours. He has since apologised for the inconvenience caused by the water supply cuts.
