In May 2023, information was received regarding a taxi travelling towards Springbok, and that one of the passengers was carrying a black and red bag with cash.

The police intercepted the taxi.

The matter was referred to the Hawks, who worked with the NPA’s unit. On Tuesday (20/3), the Upington Magistrate’s Court granted the Hawks and Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) a final forfeiture order of R227 450 against Masoud Mohammed (48).

The money would be paid into the Criminal Assets Recovery Account (CARA).
