Robbers ram CIT vehicle on N8, make off with cash─── 13:34 Tue, 02 Sep 2025

The Hawks’ serious organised crime unit is investigating a cash-in-transit robbery occurring on Tuesday morning (3/9) on the N8 between Botshabelo and Bloemfontein.
It is alleged a group of suspects in a BMW rammed a cash vehicle at approximately 09:00, causing it to overturn. Security personnel sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Gunshots were also reported at the scene.

The suspects fled in a grey Toyota Hilux in the direction of Botshabelo. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
By late morning, officers were still processing the scene.
The Hawks have not ruled out the possibility that the robbery may be linked to other similar incidents. They are urging anyone with information to contact Lieutenant Colonel Babane Skota on 079 509 4998 or 051 412 3000.
