Breaking news: Ten people dead, several injured in the N8 bus accident─── KEKELETSO MOSEBETSI 09:04 Sat, 15 Nov 2025
At least ten people (seven men and three women) have been confirmed dead on the scene following the bus accident between Botshabelo and Bloemfontein on the N8.
The chairperson of the Free State Road Incident Management, Sipho Towa, said the ten bodies were inside the wrecks on the accident scene. The accident took place near the RRR farming area at 06:35.
The incident involved a bus, a train, and a heavy motor vehicle, and emergency services are currently on the scene.
Five commuters are reported to be moderately injured, 19 with minor injuries, and six are critically injured. Patients have been transported to Braamfisher Busamed Hospital, Pelonomi Trauma Hospital, and Botshabelo Hospital.

Towa said rainy conditions may have contributed to the severity of the crash.
The lanes leading to Bloemfontein are currently closed, and motorists have been advised to use alternative routes.
