Bloemfontein - 19-year old Australian spinner, Ashton Agar, has returned home early from the Ashes tour of England due to illness.
Agar made a stunning test debut in the Ashes opener at Trent Bridge, making 98, the highest score by any test match No 11 batsman. He also played in Australia's colossal 347-run second test defeat at Lords.
After taking just two wickets in all at an expensive average of 124 during the third Ashes Test, the young spinner was dropped for the more experienced spinner Nathan Lyons.
Australian team doctor Peter Brukner said in a statement that Agar had been suffering from a mild viral infection
for the past week and had been sent home to rest and recuperate.
The fifth and final Ashes test which is of academic importance gets under way at the Oval in London today, with the first ball being bowled at 12 noon.
