The World Cup experienced one of this most thrilling days yesterday with Afghanistan and Bangladesh both coming close to causing two major upsets.
First up, England has survived a huge scare in Delhi to beat Afghanistan by 15-runs.
Loss effectively knocks the cricket minnows out of the World Cup, while for England the victory goes a long way to secure their place in the semi-finals.
The English were in heaps of trouble in thesixth over when they lost James Vince, captain Eoin Morgan and Joe Root to reel at 42 for 4.
However, spinning all-rounder, Moeen Ali,came to the rescue for the 2010 champions to lead the side to 142 for 7.
Ali ended his innings unbeaten on 41 from 33 deliveries to help the English save face and keep their tournament alive.
With the ball Ali also took one for 17 in 2 overs and ran Amir Hamza out to earn the man of the match award.
After the match Ali said it was important to take his time while batting.
The English next face the defending champions, Sri Lanka, in Delhi on Saturday.
The hosts India took three wickets off the last three balls to avoid their second loss of the tournament with a 1-run win over Bangladesh in the Bangalore-humdinger.
Hardik Pandya took the wickets of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Mahmudullah in consecutive deliveries before Mustafizur Rahman was run out from the very last ball.
Tight bowling by Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja saw the Tigers limp towards the 147-run target.
After the game, captain Mahindra Singh Dhoni said it was important for him as the skipper to put his young bowler, Pandya, at ease before bowling the last over.
India now lie second in Group 2 behind the Black Caps of New Zealand and they next face Australia in Mohali on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Proteas are in action tomorrow when they come up against the second ranked West Indies.
The men in green-and-gold are without the services of the in-form JP Duminy for the crucial match.
All the talk this week has been about what route coach Russell Domingo willtake, but it is becoming more evident that he will be using Aaron Phangiso as a replacement for Duminy.
With the Nagpur track conducive to spin, having Phangiso teamup with Imran Tahir may just be the route to follow.
Tahir says there is no added pressure on him for the match and he welcomes any player that will come into the side.
The question, however, remains: Will the Proteas' arsenal contain enough fire power to contain the explosive Chris Gayle once again.
Tomorrow evening’s match in Nagpur gets underway at four o’clock.
There are no matches scheduled for today.
Tomorrow’s first match sees Australia take on Pakistan at 11 o’clock in what is set to beanother cracker, while on Saturday it's New Zealand against Bangladesh and England face the defending champions - Sri Lanka.
And that’s stumps with this edition of the Super Over.
