The ITEC Knights are in a favourable position to reach the Division 2 final of the CSA 4-Day series, but now it’s a waying game for the Bloemfontein-based team.

On Saturday, the Knights collected near maximum points in their 4-Day game against the Garden Route Badgers by winning by 9-wickets.

The Knights are also appealing their draw against the Mpumalanga Rhinos in White River last year as human error led to them being unable to take to the field.

The Knights captain Patrick Botha told OFM Sport that they’ve done what they could and now it’s a waiting game

“We've got the win and that's what we needed to do in this last game and it showed a lot of character by the guys to come out with a victory,” said Botha.

“It's a waiting game now and it's out of our control. We did what we could and hopefully we are in the final.

“We don't know what's going to happen regarding the game against Mpumalanga. But that is also out of our control, and we'll let the guys that are in control there deal with it.

“We're looking forward to what lies ahead and hopefully we can have a home final, but we'll see.”

The Knights have a bye during this week’s last round before the final.
