Ventersdorp - Police in Ventersdorp are investigating a case in which a seven-day-old baby boy was found dead at his home in Tshing location.
North West police spokesperson Kealeboga Molale says the mother and baby were allegedly sleeping when the former attempted to awake the baby to breastfeed him. She then realised that the child was not breathing. She also noticed that his tongue was cut.
The investigation into the matter continues.
