Sheep cause traffic jam as truck overturns in Bloemfontein─── 07:23 Thu, 17 Mar 2016
Bloemfontein - A truck carrying sheep overturned on Raymond Mhlaba road in Bloemfontein in the Free State, killing some of the animals on Wednesday.
ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, said paramedics arrived on the scene to find a large truck lying on its side against the roadside barrier.
When ER24 got to the scene, sheep that had survived the accident and were being transported on the back of the truck, were found running around, causing a traffic jam.
Meiring said ER24 paramedics, along with members of the public, assisted in the capture of some of the sheep. “Unfortunately, some of the sheep sustained fatal injuries."
Paramedics assessed the driver and found that he had escaped without injury.
Local authorities were on scene.
